Mr John Tighe

Mr Tighe is a Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery based at the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead appointed in 2002. He is both dentally (U.Brist 1986) and medically (U.Lond 1995) qualified and holds higher fellowships in oral, general and maxillofacial surgery.

Mr Tighe is currently the departmental Lead Clinician and the Clinical Director for Head, Neck and Eye Services. In his NHS practice he has a special interest in the management of head and neck cancer with functional reconstruction of the face and jaws including microvascular surgery techniques.

Private practice

In his private practice, Mr Tighe has a special interest in dental implantology, including associated bone grafting techniques and enjoys close working relationships with several local dental practitioners who provide the implant superstructure (crown and bridge) work or implant stabilised dentures. In addition, Mr Tighe would welcome referrals for all other aspects of oral surgery including impacted teeth, root surgery (apicectomy), jaw cysts, facial lesions, soft and hard tissue facial trauma, facial pain and salivary gland conditions as well as head and neck cancer.

Mr Tighe consults at both the McIndoe Surgical Centre and Spire Gatwick Park and is a member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Association of Dental Implantology and the British Association of Head & Neck Oncologists.
