Minor Oral Surgery

Mr Tighe is pleased to offer a full range of oral surgical procedures; the commonest being removal of decayed teeth, retained roots and impacted teeth. Other frequently performed procedures include removal of jaw cysts, root surgery (apicectomy) and removal of mouth swellings such as polyps and mucous retention cysts (mucocoele).

These procedures can often be carried out under local anaesthetic in the out-patient department. However, for anxious patients treatment can be offered under intravenous sedation again as an out-patient or as an in-patient under general anaesthesia.

Commonly patients are referred by their dental or medical practitioner in discomfort requiring prompt treatment. With prior arrangement with Mr Tighe’s secretary and the hospital this can often be done on a ‘see and treat’ basis for more straightforward surgical conditions
